Fenestrated House

Haringey, London

An abundant array of customised openings allow views and natural light deep into a series of rooms – the nature of the openings vary according to the function of the respective rooms.

Firstly, in ascending the stairs one encounters an angled side window with an external planter facing towards unobstructed views to the north, with a framless rooflight marking the top landing. As one enters the Office Studio at the rear, a clerestory slot window at high level brings southern light into the workspace whilst avoiding glare, further illuminated by a large east-facing window to the side of a fitted desk. In the largest room (the Master Suite) a full-height picture window with a cushioned bench captures the main view of surrounding gardens at the rear, with additional large format skylights bringing in light from the front.
